Bio

Rebekah Windmiller, LCAT, REAT, CAGS is an Expressive arts therapist, certified Gestalt psychotherapist, choreographer, and dancer. Her approach to the arts and therapy is based in phenomenology as taught at the European Graduate School where she received her master’s degree. As founder of NYC Expressive Arts, Rebekah trained students in expressive arts therapy and was also guest faculty at NY Expressive Arts Studio/Albany. Her post-graduate work was completed at Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy in New York City. Most recently, she presented to the New York Institute for Gestalt Therapy on the body and sensory experience as the foundation for the interconnectedness of the arts in psychotherapy. Her articles have been published in the journal POIESIS and the books In Praise of Poiesis: The Arts and Human Existence and The Play of Poiesis: Expressive Arts in Therapy, Education, Research and Social Change. She has extensive experience treating dual diagnosis clients and facilitating workshops in creative process. Rebekah is an arts-based clinical supervisor and is currently in private practice.
